This year, East London’s coolest festival 1234 Shoreditch returns to its hub of Shoreditch Park for its fifth birthday, and it is celebrating with the biggest and best installment to date – for its best value to date.
Perennially renowned for its selection of the most rapidly ascendant new acts and the musical legends who inspired them, 1234 Shoreditch has once again put together what is sure to be one of the coolest lineups of the festival season. In addition to the previously announced likes of Dirty Beaches, Savages, Frankie Rose, Iceage, S.C.U.M, Gabriel Bruce, Gross Magic and Duke Spirit, we can now add a whole slew of cutting edge talent. From celebrated, grungy New York psychedelicists Crocodiles, to female blues riffing duo Deap Vally; from indie pop quintet Citizens!, currently riding high on the release of their Alex Kapranos produced debut LP, to good time Nashville rockers Jeff the Brotherhood and gothic London punkers Zulu, it is clear that 1234 Shoreditch has once again picked the very best of the new crop. Add in Mark Stewart from seminal post-punk heroes The Pop Group and DJs from Loud and Quiet, Rough Trade, Double Denim, Old Blue Last, Dark Party, Mischa Mafia, Pink Mist, and more – and all for the price of a show at Brixton Academy – and you have what is sure to be one of the best and most exciting events of the summer.
Following this years event in Shoreditch Park, The 1234 Shoreditch will go on to take over East London, hosting aftershow parties at 10 locations, all free to wristband holders.
