Preaching from the Pews: True Womanhood

After the release of their debut EP Basement Membranes in 2010, True Womanhood dropped a member and relocated from Washington DC to the stylish heights of Brooklyn, New York.

There Thomas Redmond (vocals, guitar) and Noam Elsner (drums, electronics) have set about recording fresh material with the same electro-experimental twist, looping samples and recording their percussion in sewers for the ultimate reverb. With less of an emphasis on guitars, their material mixes trance synths with industrial beats and eerie lyrics about rising up from the dead. No surprise then that their music has been compared to the latest flash-in-the-pan genre, Witch House.

This month the duo announced plans to put out their song “Sympathy” as a single, and have released a remix by Clinic on the internet masses. Hear it below.
