Preaching From the Pews: Us Baby Bear Bones

Brighton band Us Baby Bear Bones know how to channel their age to good effect. 19-year-old Puff Gandolfo and 20-year-old Daisy Emily Warne write and perform charming, ethereal music with a sense of undying innocence.

Their power to lull, best displayed on their demo of “Ghosts” (below), is met with a firey resilance that pours out of tracks like “Ascot Hat”. The duo clearly possess the talent to challenge any stereotype that might be thrown at them; predicting the heights of their fame is futile.

Sometimes influenced by Yeah Yeah Yeahs, there’s as much Broken Social Scene and Sky Larkin to their output as there is Coco Rosie and Why? With a sound that versatile, and backing from everyone in and between OIC Records and Source Magazine, you can expect to hear a lot about Us Baby Bear Bones in the next few months.

We’ll start by telling you about their next gig: on June 18th they’ll support The Wave Pictures at The Prince Albert, Brighton.
