Dates: 29th and 30th April 2016
Location: Portree, Isle of Skye
Further to an already excellent musical line up, Skye Live 2016 has added several chefs from the superlative restaurant scene on the island. Boasting none-better seafood including local langoustines, oysters and and hand-dived scallops, Three Chimney’s Scott Davies is joining forces with Kinloch’s Michelin starred Marcello Tully and Michael Smith to provide a serious step up from the usual festival fare. If the produce from the teaming waters around the island don’t take your fancy then one of those deer you saw on the way into Portree may make an appearance along with other local game. Not just dishes of a Scottish bent either: Tully, originally from Brazil, is looking to bring a flavour of his home country in homage to the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Couple this with a new IPA from Innes and Gunn brewers being premiered and an Isle of Harris Gin which features sugar kelp in its distillation and it’s fast becoming an event to attend for the food and drink all on its own. Since the bill includes, Ame, Simian Mobile Disco, Public Service Broadcasting and C Duncan amongst many others across the two days, it’s already essential.
£55.00 for a day ticket, £95.00 for both the Friday and Saturday; available from Skye Live 2016 (along with details of free wild-camping for the confident). Other accommodation information available from isleofskye.com.
