NEWS: Sea Fever unveil funky new single + exclusive merch ahead of upcoming gigs

Formed by members of Johnny Marr’s band, New Order, and Section 25, Sea Fever have been making waves since the release of their debut album, Folding Lines, in 2021. With the highly anticipated follow-up album just around the corner, the supergroup has dropped a new single, along with exciting news of exclusive merchandise that will be available at their upcoming shows in Macclesfield, Leek, and Manchester.

Titled ‘Shouldn’t Have Been This Way’, the band’s energetic new single has already captured the attention of fans, after being teased during their live performances throughout 2024. Powered by an infectious bassline from Tom Chapman, the track highlights the exceptional guitar work of Phil Cunningham, adding a dynamic edge to its funky vibe. So far, this is the third single from the band’s upcoming second album, Surface Sound, set to be released on Friday 30th May 2025, via the Stockport-based indie label Cosmic Glue.

To celebrate the albums release, the band will be playing a special launch show at the Yard in Manchester, where they’ll be joined by The Thief of Time. They’ll also be visiting Loafers in Halifax on 31st May, The Jacaranda Club i Liverpool on 1st June, and Wax and Beans in Bury on 2nd June, for three intimate acoustic in-store performances.
