Brooklyn-based TVOD have today announced their debut album, Party Time due for release on 9th May on Mothland and have shared new single ‘Uniform’.
The track is packed with jagged, down-picked guitars, fierce fuzz riffs, and vintage sci-fi synths atop a propulsive rhythm section. Tyler Wright’s half-sung-half-yelled delivery, explores the themes of apparel, mysterious numbers, and the world going down the drain, all the while referencing a famous novel about forbidden love, made-up words, and “thoughtcrimes”. To accompany the announcement, the band have shared a self-directed video for “Uniform”, which they describe as “a Nineteen Eighty-Four work-related injury release form that someone forgot to file.”
The band will be be playing a number of shows at SXSW this month, and will be heading to the UK in May for The Great Escape and also a London show. They’ll be returning to the UK in August to play End of the Road Festival. The brainchild of singer-songwriter Tyler Wright, the project draws from personal and external inspirations. His vivid storytelling paints a gritty tongue-in-cheek picture of being a D.I.Y. artist grinding it out in NYC, complete with fabled tales about the degenerate lifestyle and the good and bad which accompany it.
