To celebrate their new release and the 80th birthday of the late legendary Bob Marley they have picked five of his greatest songs:

They say: “It’s obviously an impossible task. Bob famously wrote a song every day and he had a very high hit rate. Dubwiser have played with The Wailers (RIP the Barrett Brothers) many times and even more so with Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry who was the Wailers producer in the early days. Spider met Bob as a youth and was mentored by the great Peter Tosh. For many years Dubwiser have variously included ‘Soul Rebel’, ‘Wait in Vain’, ‘Stir it Up‘ and ‘Exodus‘ in our live sets, but we’ve stretched outside these to find our five…. “

Spider: ‘Ambush In The Night’
‘Cause the gunmen opened fire but Bob was protected by his majesty.

Johnny Was’: A fantastic insight into the creative artist who is Bob Marley.

Jonas: ‘Bad Card

A massive influence on the band. When we’re writing, this is the tune of Bob’s that we refer to the most. It’s a mini lesson in ska, rocksteady and reggae all in one.

Eddy: ‘Trenchtown Rock

The live version launched his career in Europe. It’s call and response pattern reinforces unity and solidarity.

John: ‘Lively up yourself’

A positive message and a punchy beat. Bob Marley and The Wailers in their prime.
