Adwaith - Solas listening party Feb 2025

VIDEO: Adwaith in conversation with Cath Holland at CWRW ‘Solas’ listening party

Last week, double Welsh Music Prize-winners Adwaith settled on the stage in front of a sold-out live audience at CWRW in the band’s hometown of Carmarthen for an exclusive listening party of brand new album Solas. At the event, one week before the record comes out, Hollie Singer, Heledd Owen, Gwenllian Anthony (L-R) were joined by producer Steffan Pringle, Libertino RecordsGruff Owen, Beast PR‘s Aled Thomas, and interviewed by God Is In The TV‘s features editor Cath Holland.

Solas is a double album, the first in such a form by a female artist recorded in Welsh. The band talk to Cath about their trailblazing path so far, the changes undergone as creatives, the importance of females making a statement, the theme of returning home and finding your tribe and happiness. They recall Adwaith’s long fond and emotional relationship with the CWRW venue, and the Welsh language gigs from their teens. You will hear as well of the band’s passion to make music sung in Welsh accessible to all, how Spotify is a double edged sword, why Solas is a double album – and much more!
The event was presented by SLUSH CIC in conjunction with Libertino Records.
