God Is In The TV is proud to premiere the video for ‘Steal You Away,” by Ben Le Jeune. The single is out now, and it’s the first to be taken from his debut solo album A Stranger To Your City, set to be released on April 25th by Missing Door. It may be seen below.
The album was produced by Tim Thomas who has also worked with the likes of Elbow, Johnny Marr, The Fall, and Paul Heaton. It is his first music to be released since he moved to France in 2022.
Best known as the frontman of The Creature Comfort, he explains: “It’s all been quite unsettling”. Between conceiving the first songs through to the final mixing of the album, I’d lived in five different houses in three countries, saw my marriage collapse, lost my mother and became exiled from my gang back in Manchester. There were certainly a fair few dark nights of the soul along the way, and as I developed lyrics that were a lot more reflective and personal it became apparent that the compositions would have a better fit as a solo release.”
The album 2022 and 2024 at the legendary Blueprint Studios in Manchester. He was joined by bassist Brad Ingham and guitarist Steve Jones from The Creature Comfort, guitarist Paul Hesketh (The Reveres), renowned session drummer Jon Needham, Martyn Henderson on keys, and Laura Marsden (We Are Performance) on backing vocals .
