THE NONE announce new EP, CARE, set for release on 14th February via Bandcamp only. The four-piece also share captivating new single ‘On Automatic‘ and in addition the band will tour throughout February and will headline Oslo, London on 28th March.
THE NONE are a band of lifelong musicians comprising bassist Gordon Moakes (Bloc Party, YoungLegionnaire), vocalist Kai Whyte (Blue Ruth, Youth Man), guitarist Jim Beck (Cassels) and drummer Chris Francombe (Frauds). Together they make an uncompromising vision of noise rock with melody at its heart. On the new single ‘On Automatic’ the band share:
“There was some uncertainty when we started writing this one. We thought the main riff might be a bit too ‘jock-rock’. Thankfully Gordon and Chris came up with some interesting parts which changed the feel and helped build tension. Once Kai added their vocals it quickly became one of our favourites to play live“

Following their debut shows in February 2024, THE NONE have quickly established themselves as a formidable live band. Their debut EP MATTER , released in August 2024, aimed to bottle this live energy. With the follow-up, CARE, the band again opted to record everything live – with amps blaring, no click track, and minimal overdubs. But this time their sound had been honed by months of playing shows with the likes of Metz, Mannequin Pussy and Les Savy Fav.
“I think we’d only done around three or four practices with Kai [vocals] when we recorded the first EP,” says guitarist Jim. “It was pretty seat-of-the-pants stuff. This time we had a much clearer idea of who we are as a band, and how we wanted everything to sound.”
The result is another collection of delicately crafted and utterly explosive songs, captured in the the most honest way possible. This theme of honesty also runs through the lyrics, with singer Kai touching on wide ranging topics including poverty, identity and substance misuse.
CARE will be released exclusively on Bandcamp, thus only those willing to venture outside the conventional streaming bubble will hear it.
