Frog, the cult New York indie duo with a knack for turning the everyday into something magical, are back to brighten the season. Following the success of their 2023 album Grog, Frog have announced their sixth album, 1000 Variations on the Same Song, out in February, alongside their biggest tour yet. But first, they’ve gifted us with ‘Did Santa Come’?’, a nostalgic and heart-warming new single.
Inspired by frontman Daniel Bateman’s young son, who spent weeks after Christmas asking, “Did Santa come?”, the track channels the wide-eyed anticipation of being a kid again. With its wistful lyrics and whimsical melodies, the song recalls the cozy charm of Charlie Brown Christmas Specials, weaving nostalgic piano and gentle snowfall into Frog’s characteristic sound.
Since their return in 2023 with Daniel’s brother Steve Bateman on drums, Frog have been on a roll, selling out shows across the Tri-State area. Their 2025 North American tour (dates below) promises even more, with Frog co-founder Tom White back on bass and stops in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, and Boise’s Treefort Music Fest.
