NEWS: Millie Manders and the Shut Up announce ‘Choose the Bear’ Tour, with exclusive merch for DA charities

Mille Manders and the Shut Up follow the release of their highly acclaimed second album Wake Up, Shut Up, Work with the release of Me Too in January, the fourth and final single and video from the album with an acoustic version on the B-side. The release will come in conjunction with their ‘Choose The Bear ‘ Tour in the spring which will raise money for Sexual and Domestic Abuse charities via a new Angry Ted Plushie bear. The bear will be strictly limited to 500 with £6 from each one being donated to The Survivors Trust, Refuge and Beyond The Streets with the aim of raising £1000 for each charity.

Speaking about the release, Millie says: “We really felt Me Too needed to be a single, even beyond the album’s release, because of the potential to use it to raise money and support survivors of rape and domestic abuse. We know the title of the song is controversial but, in a time where violence towards women is only escalating, we felt the statement was a necessary one to put out into the world.”

Wake Up, Shut Up Work reached number 3 in the UK Rock & Metal album chart and number 6 in the UK Independent album chart on its release in August, and is the follow up to their Telling Truths, Breaking Ties debut. The album is available on CD and vinyl from https://linktr.ee/milliemanders and a host of independent record stores alongside all major streaming and download platforms.

Millie Manders and The Shutup are known for their ferocious and joyous live shows, having graced stages at such notable festivals as Slam Dunk, Bearded Theory, North West Calling, Kendal Calling, Rebellion and Boomtown, and have previously toured with the likes of Less Than Jake and Ferocious Dog. The band explore themes of loss, betrayal, heartbreak, anxiety, environmental concern and political unrest – all while exuding the punk attitude and prowess that helps set them apart – and have been championed by the likes of the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, BBC Introducing and Radio X.

Beyond their music, the band’s commitment to sustainability and charity is always evident, prioritising eco-friendly merchandise and raising funds for charitable causes through limited edition artwork and merchandise sales and by donating a percentage of album sales to causes they wholeheartedly support. With this dedication to making a positive impact in the music industry, they continue to be a vital voice in the burgeoning punk scene
