NEWS: NATI. shares moving new single ‘Midnight’

Ahead of her upcoming 2025 EP Golden, rising Fife talent NATI. embraces the encroaching darkness with her moving new single ‘Midnight.‘ Stripping away the electric edge of her recent material, she reconnects with her folk roots, crafting an intimate, enveloping lament that feels like a warm embrace on a cold, moonlit night. The confessional ‘Midnight’ features gentle piano notes that dance beneath NATI.’s exquisitely haunting vocals, as delicate acoustic guitars weave a tapestry of vulnerability and raw emotion, it conjures an atmosphere of late-night meditation upon loss and grief. It also shows NATI is brimming with talent and a voice that finds sanctuary in her songwriting. “Music is where I bare my soul,” she reveals, transforming her own healing journey into a sonic balm for wounded hearts.

She says: “Midnight was completed in the wee hours of the morning with the ink girls. I’d only just properly met them that day but after coming to my house, setting up the space and having many a heart to heart over biscuits & tea, this song was born. It’s me so of course it’s multi-layered because a can’t seem to bloody help myself doing that. It’s about being in a shitty situation, knowing you’ll get out of it and finally doing so and seeing the tomorrow after midnight. It’s also about my relationship with death and loss and my experiences with it. To be totally black and white here, I lost a lot of people in 2019 in the span of 5/6 months. Part of it was specifically written from the perspective of someone dying, a fact I kept incredibly close to my chest whilst writing it. “When the light goes, I’ll go… I won’t feel any pain, there’s no reason to fight”

Born and raised in Fife, NATI. exploded onto the music scene, having amassed over 2 million followers across social media platforms. NATI.’s path took a transformative turn in 2022, when dreams became a reality, as she hit the road to support some of her favourite musicians, namely Tidelines, Newton Faulkner, and Simply Red. In 2023, she released her debut EP, Older, and embarked on a UK tour, adding two successful tours and numerous support slots to her repertoire. Her festival appearances have packed-out tents at TRNSMT, Belladrum, Kendal Calling, Skye Live, Tiree Music Festival, Beardy Folk, Cambridge Folk Festival, and Secret Garden Party. In support of Older, NATI. was invited to play BBC Quay sessions alongside Texas and sold out a show at Celtic Connections.

‘Midnight’ will be available across all streaming platforms from November 22nd. Stay tuned for the release of Golden hailed for Spring 2025.
