Manchester-based producer salute teams up with Mercury Prize and 6-time BRIT nominated singer songwriter Jessie Ware on a heady new collaborative single ‘Heaven In Your Arms’. This euphoric, arms aloft single marks salute’s first new music to be shared since the release of their acclaimed debut album TRUE MAGIC, earlier this year on Ninja Tune.
Speaking more on their collaboration, Jessie commented, “I’ve been a fan of salute for a while and caught their set in Sonar this summer. From that point I was determined to work with them. salute sent me a load of tracks and this beat stood out. I wanted to make something optimistic and romantic. It reminds me of the garage I used to dance to in my teens but of course with salute’s unique and futuristic sound it feels brand new! I love the song and to see how it’s been going down in salutes shows in the states makes me so excited to perform it with them one day, or two!”
salute’s new album TRUE MAGIC takes aesthetic and auditory inspiration from old Japanese car adverts, which salute spent hours trawling through YouTube archives to find. They developed a concept for the album of driving an old JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car in a race called TRUE MAGIC. The album features Disclosure, Rina Sawayama, piri, Empress Of, Karma Kid, Léa Sen, among others.
Having just returned from their headline tour across North America with stops in LA (sold out), Vancouver (sold out), San Francisco (sold out), Miami, Montreal and NYC, salute will be heading off on their EU / UK run at the end of November, with special live shows at London’s Electric Brixton and in their hometown Manchester at Warehouse Project, where they will be showcasing their new TRUE VISION production and visuals, an extension of the TRUE MAGIC album creative and sound. All before kicking off the Australian and New Zealand leg next February.
