NEWS: Doves return with new single ‘Renegade’ ahead of new album for 2025

Doves have released new single ‘Renegade.’ It’s the first taster of their sixth album, entitled Constellation For The Lonely, which will be released by EMI North on February 14th 2025. Their last album, Universal Want was released in 2020 and was the band’s third UK album.

Speaking about the single, Doves drummer, vocalist and co-songwriter, Andy Williams says: “Looking at everyone’s lives over recent years, and considering the news at the moment, ‘Renegade’ feels a lot more loaded in retrospect. We wanted to go for a dystopian feel, thinking about Manchester itself over the next century or so. A totally imaginary thing… ‘Blade Runner’ set in our home city.”

Renegade’ was the first to be written for Constellations Of The Lonely and the last to be written in their famed creative rural retreat, Frank Bough Sound III.

The album was written, recorded and produced by Doves between locations in Greater Manchester, North Wales and Cheshire with additional production from long-term collaborator, Dan Austin. The album tracklisting is as follows:

1. Renegade
2. Cold Dreaming
3. In The Butterfly House
4. Strange Weather
5. A Drop In The Ocean
6. Last Year’s Man
7. Stupid Schemes
8. Saint Teresa
9. Orlando
10. Southern Bell
