NEWS: Lobby (featuring members of Goat Girl and leather.head) unfurl new track ‘folding out’

Consisting of members of Goat Girl and leather.head, slow-core trio Lobby return with the meandering ‘folding out’. Shifting vividly from intimate, and spindly percussion and glimmering guitars, brooding vocals swell into a slow-burning exploration of longing for someone to open up and the compassion they need to do that. Lobby explain: “It’s about the desire to watch the layers someone has built up, unfold, to reveal the core of who they are, and the unquestioning support needed for that process to occur. “

The opening track of their forthcoming debut EP nightdriving, produced by Jamie Neville at Teeth Studios, fuses tender dual vocals with spidery guitar work and melodic bass lines. Deepening the mood with distant Alex G-esque banjo strums, reverb-soaked strings and airy sax blasts, grounding drums lock these blissed-out elements in place, carrying them to a climax that washes over you like a powerful wave.

Lobby have nurtured an underground following in South London and further afield (supporting A. Savage) over the last few years. With ‘in the wall’ landing on streaming platforms last year.

True to their DIY aesthetic, lobby’s self-released debut EP will feature artwork and visualisers by the band’s own Toby Evans-Jesra (Goat Girl, Lou Terry, Horse Jumper of Love) and will be released on the 1st of November, followed by a limited cassette run courtesy of Fatigue Records. They’ll also be performing a series of live shows in support of the release, including a support tour with fellow emo-leaning outfit Horse Jumper of Love.
