NEWS: Supergroup, ‘Uncle Daddy’ share debut track, ‘Blood’

Formed in winter 2024, Uncle Daddy is a new three-way collaboration project aiming to push musical boundaries from Nathan Saoudi (Fat White Family / Brian Destiny) Richard Wilson (Permeo / Rognvald), and Joseph Pancucci (White Devil Disco / Fat White Family) serving up a panoply of explorative twisted tunes designed to make London smile again.

Blood’’ is the first track they are sharing with the world, with twitching dubby breakbeats, ominous synths oscillating, caustic guitar tones and the vocal melodies of Nathan Saoudi and Joseph Pancucci. Pancucci’s higher register is underscored by Saoudi tones with Wilson chiming in too, it’s an entwined concoction that balances wracked and soulful in equal measures. The vivid lyrics recount a familial traumatic experience and the realisation of the stupidity of violence. Listen here:

Having already introduced his friend and collaborator Joseph Pancucci to his new friend and producer Richard Wilson, Nathan Saoudi then convinced Larry Love (Alabama 3) to work with his new friend. Shortly after Larry Love’s involvement, Rich, Nathan and Joe decide to start Uncle Daddy.

With more tracks recorded and set for release in subsequent months, Rich says each one is a new evolution. “We are not trying to use one trick in our tracks, if everyone likes everything we do, you know they’re a bit weird.”

He adds.

We dip into each other’s skillsets..We have our own specialities though that makes us work like a well oiled machine.” says Joe.

“Through going independent again, as Fat White Family were in the early days, Uncle Daddy has led me to focus on just my songwriting.” Saoudi explains “I love this group. Hope you enjoy our debut.”

Coinciding with their debut release of ‘Blood’, Uncle Daddy will perform at Dash the Henge showcase at 75 Dean Street, Soho (ex-Warner bros screening house) in London on Saturday the 5th of October. They will be joined by Larry Love.
