NEWS: Flip Top Head announce debut EP and release new single ‘So Much for Mole Catching’

Brighton’s Flip Top Head have announced their debut EP Up Like A Weather Balloon along with a string of UK/EU headline tour dates this coming month, including an appearance at Rotterdam’s Left of The Dial festival. To celebrate this news their release new single ‘So Much For Mole Catching’ via cult indie label Blitzcat Records (C Turtle, PLAY DEAD).

Recorded with acclaimed producer Theo Verney (Lime Garden, English Teacher, Egyptian Blue, Blood Wizard), the new track’s lyric delves into the beauty latent in life’s random encounters; the band spent four hours with a total stranger whose father happened to be British Mole Catcher of the Month, providing the song its title and refrain. Offering more on the track, the band share:

‘”So Much for Mole Catching’ is loosely about the small moments you share with a significant other. From breakfast to bed, everything before, after and in-between. Those seemingly mundane moments make you, as one heart, whole. We knew we wanted a slightly more light-hearted, catchy tune to add into the mix and, much to our surprise, it came to us pretty easily! We almost see this song as a turning point of sorts for our writing as a band and hope that it gives an encouraging glimpse into the future of Flip Top Head.”
