South London’s Mysie has announced her debut mixtape CONTROLLA, due out in September. Alongside this, she has shared new single ‘LITTLE TOO LATE’.
Expertly balancing a sense of nostalgia with an endlessly forward-facing soundscape, CONTROLLA is Mysie’s most genre-defying and innovative work to date, defined by an unapologetically dance-oriented essence. Two years in the making, the new mixtape hears Mysie straying from the intimate, indie soul that has previously imbued her music. The Ivor Novello Award winning artist has never confined herself to one genre and is always pushing her boundaries – always experimenting.
Commenting on ‘LITTLE TOO LATE’, Mysie said: “This song is about moving on and refusing to let people back in who only return when you’re on a high frequency. It’s about letting go of those toxic cycles and standing strong against their attempts to re-enter your world.”
More music from CONTROLLA will be shared soon and Mysie will be supporting IAMDDB across Europe this autumn.
CONTROLLA will be released on 27 September via ONErpm.
