NEWS: Porridge Radio announce new album ‘Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me’

Porridge Radio have announced their fourth album, Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me, which will be released on 18 October. Alongside the announcement, the band have released the album’s lead single ‘Sick of the Blues’ and shared dates for a UK, European and North American tour.

Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me is a coming-of-age moment inspired by burnout, the music industry, heartbreak and band leader Dana Margolin‘s own increasing immersion in her craft as an artist. Across the album, Margolin’s ruthlessly self-interrogating writing style is matched by some of the band’s most affecting music to date, patiently building and tragically intense. “Almost all the songs started out as poems,” says Margolin of her different approach in writing the music. She had learned that a songwriter can always hide behind the tricks of the music. “In a poem, though,” she says, “you can’t hide.”

Describing ‘Sick of the Blues’, Margolin says how it “is about being heartbroken and taking back some joy, remembering that you’re the source of your own happiness, not someone else, even when you’re hurt and left with a hole in your heart. After being messed around enough, you just want to take back control. I just wanted to let go, stop letting it consume me. I wanted simplicity to have fun and remember everything good that could possibly happen. To love wholly, to not take anything too seriously. To have fun with my friends, to remove the tunnel vision and fall in love with my life again.”

The band’s tour begins on 31 October in France, with four shows taking place before they return to the UK. The UK tour kicks off in Nottingham on 18 November and includes performances in Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow and Newcastle before concluding in Brighton on 30 November. Following this run of UK shows, the band head back to mainland Europe on 2 December with a show in Amsterdam. Gigs in Brussels, Berlin, Prague and Vienna follow, with these European shows concluding on 19 December in Cologne.

In 2025, Porridge Radio will travel to North America for a run of shows. This leg of the tour begins on 23 January in Washington, D.C and includes performances in New York, Boston, Toronto and San Francisco before the band’s final show in Los Angeles on 9 February. Full tour dates can be found here, with tickets on sale from 10am on 2 August.
