Swedish psych warriors GOAT return with their new self-titled album Goat, due for release in October. To celebrate, the band have released new “breakbeat driven” single ‘Ouroboros’, alongside UK live dates.
The single’s title comes from ‘The Ouroboros’, the icon of the snake or dragon eating its own tail. Most commonly, it’s taken simply to mean the endless cycle of death and rebirth that characterises life on this planet. As such, it’s an image that looms large in the world of GOAT. The band explain “the cycle of rebirth means the refinement of the soul. An evolution in which we slowly find our direction. Our own rhythm.” Fittingly, ‘Ouroboros’ is the album’s final track and marries infectious chant to breathless Lalo Schifrin-style breakbeat action.
Throughout the autumn, GOAT will play six UK shows, visiting London, Bristol, Manchester, Norwich, Oxford and Nottingham. Tickets can be found here.
