It’s a good thing, then, that Benedict E Frye and ‘a few’ members of cult melodic harmonic Welsh 60s dreamers El Goodo plus contemporary fuzz merchants Los Blancos and Trecco Beis combined forces to create garage noise outfit The Eggmen Whoooooo!
Twangy surf guitar, fuzzed right up; Nuggets-abound, the South Wales six-piece go to psyche town for debut single ‘I Don’t Care’, out today. But there’s no Jonesing for a melody here; on the contrary they wear an affection of 60s pop.
The lineup of Frye, Gregg Boyle, Sheldon Advocaat, Thom Lett, Gwyn Ŵy and Sue Flay recorded in mountainous seclusion in Carmarthenshire with producer Thighpaulsandra (Spiritualized, Tim Burgess).
The accompanying photo of the band may well be pixy-lated (sic) but we sense a super group when we hear one; all good groups are super, after all.
