NEWS: Cowgirl release new single, Fading Lights, ahead of their second album, Cut Offs

York’s premier rock’n’roll outfit are back with some brand-new music. Cowgirl will release Cut Offs the much-anticipated follow-up to their self-titled 2021 debut album on 9th August 2024 via local independent imprint Safe Suburban Home.  

Ahead of the upcoming album, the quartet of Danny Trew Barton (vocals/ guitar), Sam Coates (vocals/ guitar), Jack Jewers (bass), and Jack Holdstock (drums) have shared, ‘Fading Lights’, the first single to be taken from Cut Offs. The press release accompanying the new single accurately describes it as Fading Lights “three minutes of perfect jangle pop,” going on to add that “the song showcases Cowgirl’s trademark guitar interplay and breezy melodies, turning it into the perfect distillation of summer melancholia.”

In keeping with Cowgirl’s debut album, Cut Offs has been recorded with Euan Hinshelwood (Cate Le Bon/A. Savage/Devendra Banhart) at Vacant TV studios in London and then tracked straight to tape in one weekend.
