DOVIAK is a name that you definitely want on your radar. Over the past decade, he’s gained recognition as the elusive guitarist in Johnny Marr’s live band and his talents certainly don’t end there. Most people don’t know that he actually co-produced the guitar legends recent run of top ten albums and played a key role in shaping some of his most beloved hits – including ‘The Messenger’ and ‘Hi Hello’.
When the Manchester-based musician and producer isn’t on the road or in the studio with Johnny, he’s producing the best up and coming artists and releasing music under his own name. A blend of electronica and baroque pop, his debut EP Enemy Numbers tells tales of espionage, seduction, and betrayal through analogue synths and tremolo guitars.
Making a welcome return to the scene, the spywave pioneer has just released his captivating new single, ‘The Courtyard’. From his forthcoming EP, the synthwave epic of the same title delves into DOVIAK’s contemplations on life’s futility. Expertly combining elements of mystery, romance, electronica and indie in a manner few can achieve, ‘The Courtyard’ serves as an ideal soundtrack for a world that is becoming progressively uncertain and unstable.
‘The Courtyard’ is available on Bandcamp and all major streaming platforms. The upcoming EP is due for release on 5th April.
