PLAY DEAD have released new single ‘Pretty Little Thing’, via Blitzcat Records. It is accompanied by the announcement of the garage punk’s third EP, Fly On The Wall, adn the trio will embark on their EU tour on release day, 15th March.
Hot on the heels of sticking a middle finger at gentrification with ‘Thameslink’, ‘Pretty Little Thing’ takes on a more loose, fun-filled pop flair, anchored by a catchy chorus riff reminiscent of some of the more boisterous 90s acts such as The Bluetones and Supergrass. Singer Joe Blair shares that the track:
“is all about influencer culture and how it eats away at those who fall for doing it. It came to me as I saw an ex-love islander promoting a f*ckng car air freshener.”
Composed of Joe Blair (vocals, guitar), Ollie Clarke (bass, backing vocals) and Elias Brewin (drums, percussion), Play Dead burst onto the scene with cyclist punching tale ‘Shaun’ and cemented their place with the frankly hilarious ‘Barbershop.’ The band have also announced some live dates including Manchester Punk Fest at the end of March.
