Alt-rock band Down in Motion have released their dynamic pop-punk debut single, ‘Into the River.’ Bursting with fierce, vibrant melismatic melodies, soulful vocals and multi-layered riffs, the song is a bona fide banger. With their unique fusion of influences from the ’90s to 2000s, they are a melodic powerhouse, effortlessly traversing genres, skilfully blending elements from pop-punk, alt-rock, emo post-hardcore and indie rock, creating a refreshingly unique and spellbinding sound. Led by Tom’s smooth soulful vocals their dynamic sound resonates deeply. Supported by Andy’s powerful guitars, Jaz’s thundering basslines, and a light fusion of inspired synth lines to magnify the melody and harmony.
Their latest radio-ready track, ‘Into the River’ expresses “the idea of wholeheartedly investing in a relationship, despite being aware of the high failure rate and challenges that come with any genuine connection. It’s about taking the plunge, fully aware of the potential for pain. It rejects the mainstream idea of idealised romantic love. Instead, it portrays a more realistic, genuine and authentic connection.‘ said the band.
Each member of Down in Motion is a youthful veteran of the scene making their mark in other bands and their skill and craft are obvious as they bring a vibrant and distinctive sound to the scene in their latest supergroup, Down in Motion. Stay tuned as the Sussex band continue to push boundaries and redefine the musical landscape.
