Stephen EvEns shares new track ‘A Tree’ from forthcoming album Here Come The Lights, which is scheduled for release with Onomatopoeia Records, March 2024.
While councils around the country are avidly planting trees as part of their climate strategy, boroughs including Plymouth, Sheffield, and even Torquay have recently been in the news for cutting trees down to much public disapproval. As climate change reaches the top of the agenda, EvEns celebrates this natural and life-giving force, in his mediation on the environment and its preservation.
A Tree is the first release from the new album, uplifting and saturated in kaleidoscopic layers of sound, the new material steps optimistically into the future. This kaleidoscopic, psych-rock offering is accompanied by EvEns signature indie style and character vocals, as he escapes the stresses of modern life for a detour into the woods with his trusty dog Rudy.
Stephen EvEns said: “The track might sound to some like psychedelic misadventure in the park but it’s actually a celebration of the joy that is walking your dog through the trees and leaves and grasses of the countryside. A psychedelic misadventure all of it’s own.”
