Indie Legends The Farm have just shared the first digital release of ‘Feel The Love‘ and it’s exactly what the world needs right now- a shot of euphoria as the nights draw in- an instant classic that’s up there with ‘All Together Now’ and ‘Groovy Train.’ Filled with sunshine, swirling electro riffs, buoyant staccato percussion and soaring multi-layered harmonies this is the perfect soundtrack for the late summer. As singer-songwriter Peter Hooton said:
“With the increasing toxicity in today’s politics and so many walks of life, I felt compelled to write about positivity and the effect people can have on you and your outlook – Feel The Love!”
‘Feel the Love’ is taken from the 2018 EP, originally available only as a limited-edition CD signed by the band. Their latest multi-layered track will be followed by ‘Moment In Time‘ and ‘Can’t Stop (Loving You)‘ with new tracks to be released, one every six weeks, continuing throughout 2024.
After a number of highly successful festival appearances and new songs in summer 2017, The Farm decided to get the original song-writing team back together and start recording again. The digital release of Feel The Love EP, was planned but was placed on hold due to the pandemic. During lockdown, the band continued writing and are now releasing a series of tracks via Ditto music.
Peter Hooton wrote the lyrics to Feel The Love with the legendary DJ Harvey in mind. He says: “We went to Ibiza in 1990 and meeting visionaries like Harvey changed our outlook on life. We met Harvey outside the Ku club, where we’d been performing, he was wearing a miner’s helmet and told us we should go to a nearby mountain where there was a party happening. There was no electricity or running water there, just a generator to power the decks, but we were completely taken aback by the atmosphere of the place. Hopefully, the lyrics capture that feeling on the mountain, which was a genuine ‘Saul on the Road to Damascus’ experience for us.“
