Rock legends, The Pretenders, have just been announced to play at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton on 12th May. The three day Festival, like SXSW, has become infamous on the music calendar for championing new music well as well as surprising fans with occasional music icons. Ed Sheeran, Adele, Foals, Fontaines DC and The Vaccines all played at the Great Escape when they were little known emerging artists, with Sheeran playing at The Concorde in 2006 ahead of Foals.
The Pretenders are known supporters of grassroots music, having completed an intimate tour of UK Independent Venues in February for Independent Venue Week. Their Great Escape set can be accessed using a Festival wristband.
The Festival runs from 11th to 13th May and will also feature Spotlight Shows from Arlo Parks and Maisie Peters as well as The Murder Capital, David Kitt, Deadletter, PVA, English Teacher, Fat Dog, FEET, Nell Mescal, The Big Moon and so many more from across the globe.
We’re excited to announce that legendary rock band @ThePretendersHQ will be performing at #TGE23 presented by @Independent! 🤘 Catch their exclusive set on Friday May 12th! 🔥
