Post Coal Prom Queen have unveiled the video for ‘Wheeling Through The Void.’
It’s the second single to be taken from their forthcoming album Music For First Contact, an ambitious song cycle exploring Scottish identity and contact with aliens.
The duo are vocalist Lily Higham and musician/composer/producer Gordon Johnstone. Speaking about the track, Johnstone said: “We wanted to create a video that reflected the retrofuturistic feeling of the track; a sort of hauntological glimpse into a future that might have been. Stephanie Lamprea, who contributed soprano vocals to this track and the rest of the album, is a fantastically emotive performer; it was a lot of fun turning her into a hologram. We learned through the course of making this video that it is vital to read the instructions on vape pens and also that vape pens used incorrectly taste like fireworks.”
The album Music for First Contact – will be released on April 28. The album launch will be on May 4 at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow (tickets can be purchased here).
The album tracklisting is as follows:
1. I See No Gods Up Here
2. Wheeling Through The Void
3. See Red Peace
4. Free Radio Phobos
5. Daylight By Deimos
6. Cosmic Tongues
7. From Glasgow to Mars
