VIDEO PREMIERE: Angel Hotel ‘Rumpy Pumpy’

Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love in its varying guises, but for Cardiff four piece Angel Hotel the occasion this year is all about sexy time. New single ‘Rumpy Pumpy’ is a tongue-in-cheek romp – ooer missus – with hints of The Knack‘s classic bop ‘My Sharona‘, very much in line with the playful nostalgic power-pop sound that the band have perfected since forming in 2020.  Two of the founder members are also lovers which makes them the perfect vessel for a song about the many ways we approach the subject of knocking boots, the beast with two backs, or making sweet lurve.

‘Rumpy Pumpy explores the band’s light-hearted side while proudly flaunting the energetic nature of our live shows. Packed with more innuendo’s than a carry on film and boasting the energy of a sun-starved border collie on its way to feed the ducks. We hope Rumpy Pumpy gets those juices flowing in all the right places,’ said Siôn Russell Jones from the band.

The video which we are pleased to premiere today, shows Angel Hotel create a Village People meets casting couch scenario, with lots of groin thrusting to make the bad times good.

Already championed by Huw Stephens, Adam Walton and Beth Elfyn, Angel Hotel this month were announced as a BBC Horizons artist. In the last two years the band played at Green Man Festival, Focus Wales and have opened for the Bug Club, Wesley Gonzalez, Pom Poko, CVC and many others. Last year they released a version of Super Furry Animals ‘Torra Fy Ngwallt Yn Hir’.

Rumpy Pumpy is released on Recordiau Côsh Records. We’re to expect an album at some point.
