Multi Award Winning Nova Twins are the latest artists to announce an intimate show in support of Music Venue Trust in partnership with FREE NOW. Their sizzling show, fusing electro punk grime and nu-metal will take place at The Lexington, London on 8th Feb 2023.
Nova Twins, who have just released a riotous remix of Sam Smith’s ‘Unholy‘ were named as Kerrang‘s Band of the Year as well as picking up an AIM award and nominations for the MOBO Awards, Mercury Prize and Radio 1’s Hottest record of the Year. They are long-standing patrons of Music Venue Trust alongside Sir Paul McCartney, Frank Turner, Tim Burgess, Tom Grennan, NIMMO and more.
The Music Venue Trust works to protect, secure and improve the UK’s Grassroots Music Venues and calls on patrons to help spread the charity’s message and emphasise the need for the whole music community to engage with their local venue.
Nova Twins said “We owe so much to grassroots venues. They are the only way new bands can gain experience and start their careers! They support new artists and bring together an incredible community of local music lovers and musicians. They are essential for smaller bands touring around the UK. To accompany this special intimate show announcement, Nova Twins sat down with super-mobility app FREE NOW in another one of their favourite grassroots venues, The Camden Assembly, to discuss why grassroots venues are so important to them.
FREE NOW are highlighting the importance of grassroots music venues and their essential role in the music industry’s ecosystem by underwriting the costs of one-off shows by future Mercury Prize hopefuls in venues across the UK. This campaign, alongside the platforms provided by MVT’s patrons, underlines the crucial role of grassroots venues within the music industry’s ecosystem in providing platforms for emerging and established artists.
