LA singer-songwriter Natalie Mering, better known as Weyes Blood, has announced the release of her next album on November 18th, And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow, followed by an international headlining ‘In Holy Flux Tour’ in early 2023.
And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow follows 2019’s acclaimed Titanic Rising, the first album in a special trilogy. Whilst Titanic Rising was an observation of doom to come, And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow is about being in the thick of it: a search for an escape hatch to liberate us from algorithms and ideological chaos. Lead single ‘It’s Not Just Me, It’s Everybody’ came out on 12th September. In Mering’s own words, the single ‘is a Buddhist anthem, ensconced in the interconnectivity of all beings, and the fraying of our social fabric.’
The UK and EU dates of the ‘In Holy Flux Tour’ begin on Saturday 28th January in Berlin at Festsaal Kreuzberg. The UK leg of the tour runs from February 8th, taking in dates at The Roundhouse in London, Bristol, Glasgow and Manchester and ends on Tuesday 14th February in Brighton at CHALK.
Tickets for the shows go on sale Friday, September 16th at 10 am; you can get full details and sign up for early access to tickets here.
And In The Darkness, Hearts Aglow will be released on Friday 18th November on Sub Pop Records. Preorders of the LP at select independent retailers in the UK and EU will receive the Loser Edition on clear vinyl.
