‘Dust’ is the second single to be released from lotusbliss‘ upcoming EP An Aching Sea. Lacing skittering beats and atmospheric synths with weaving vocals, there are elements of Radiohead about this evocative and meditative track Today we are debuting the intriguing video, watch it below.
Talking about the single, vocalist Josh Gauton explains, “walking back home in the early evening, I saw a girl sat on her own in a car with the windows all steamed up. Whilst she didn’t look visibly upset, more lost in her own world and thoughts, it did still feel heavy and I wondered what it was that she was so deeply contemplating. ‘Dust’ is the imagined narrative of what the girl in
the car was feeling, and what in response would be said to her – ‘Don’t give up now, you’re a whole lot more than ashes and dust’”.
Hailing from Canterbury, UK, lotusbliss is the result of a literal lifetime of creating, experimenting, noise-making and camaraderie between brothers Josh, Seth and Adam. Growing up making music together, it was a light-hearted conversation in 2018 around favourite band names which sparked the idea that they could and should form their own band.
