Today, Kid Cupid are debuting their new single ‘You Say It All the Time‘. Paddling in evocative beats and gradually unfolding electronic textures that allow the impressive vocals of Laura Shaw that are redolent of mid-period Madonna or London Grammar to rise to the fore, it’s an impressive cut about how cruel life can be, listen below.
Laura Shaw says of the song: “On a universal level the song is about how life can feel unfair and unbalanced at times and the sense of overwhelm we all feel around us as we try to navigate it all. On a very personal level, the song reflects on the very difficult time I’m having at the moment as I suffer from a condition called TSW (topical steroid withdrawal) and the long healing process. Music has been a huge help!”
Kid Cupid was originally formed in 2017 as a three-piece and have since reformed as a collective with Laura Shaw and James Hogan (production, percussion) at its core. They have previously received acclaim from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, PRS’ M Magazine, Lock Magazine and Substream Magazine to name a few. With Heartlands, Kid Cupid hope to captivate listeners further with their intricate blend of hazy indie-electronica.
