Bandicoot‘s debut album ‘Black After Dark‘ is out next week on Libertino and today the foursome share new single from it, ‘Early In The Morning’. Showing the band taking on a decidedly thoughtful and melancholic mindset, the song is gradual and tender; mellow keys and gently chiming guitar leave space to reflect on drizzly dawns, and love and loss. And indeed associated frustrations – after all, it wouldn’t be Bandicoot without some musical drama present. If Early in the Morning doesn’t hurt a little on listening then surely there must be a cold empty space where your heart should be. It’s a good pain, so go with it.
Bandicoot are Rhys Underdown (guitar, vocals, saxophone and keyboards), Billy Stillman (drums), Tom Emlyn (vocals, guitar and keyboards) and Keiran Doe (bass). They are newly returned from Norrköping, Sweden where they played the Future Echoes showcase festival courtesy of Focus Wales.
