Peaness: embodying the essence of pea.
Off the back of their support slot for Maximo Park, Peaness are today releasing a brand new single, ‘What’s The Use’, with accompanying video, that comes from their debut album, due out next year.
Originally slated for release last summer, the video was created as a montage of footage from previous tours, but as the never ending shiteness of lockdowns continued to unfold, the video became even more poignant as schedules were pushed back and delayed and eventually cancelled.
The band are brief with their description about the single; “Did you feel like screaming into a pillow at all these past 18 months? Same!”
But there is a light at the end of the tunnel and despite the subject matter being downbeat and sad, the ska-pop feel and infectious bouncy guitar lick and harmonic bass to the electric riff suggests a more upbeat demeanour, and Peaness have always been more about fun than being forlorn and this is a solid gold earworm, with the melody hooked into your brain, that will give you a wave of positivity.
They play their biggest ever headline gig at Oslo, Hackney, London on 18th November with limited tickets still available here.
