Liverpool multi-instrumentalist PIXEY has shared her new single, ‘Life In Stereo’, out Oct 29 via Chess Club Records.
‘Life In Stereo’ is the follow up to the celebrated track, ‘Sunshine State’ and the first taste of new music from Pixey since the wildly acclaimed ‘Free To Live In Colour’ EP was released earlier this year. Written, recorded and produced in Pixey’s bedroom in Liverpool, with additional production skills added James Dring (Gorillaz, Jamie T).
The pop newcomer pumps up the volume with an increasingly vibrant sound as she moves away from and adds an ever more sparkling vitality to the big beat, dream pop vibe of the ‘Free To Live In Colour’ EP out last year.
Co-produced by Pixey herself, new single ‘Life In Stereo’ in Pixey’s own words: “The first tune I wrote & recorded at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool. I finished writing it in a day – we started the tune from scratch in the morning and I added some of my own production & finished the lyrics in the evening. I love writing about the way music makes you feel, and ‘Life In Stereo’ is exactly that. I’m surrounded by music all the time so I wanted an upbeat, uncomplicated tune about quite literally being the music.”
