Early last month we brought you the most welcome news that having been closed for more than 30 months, first through a major programme of refurbishment and then by the restrictions enforced by the coronavirus pandemic, the Howard Assembly Room in Leeds would once more be opening its doors in October of this year. We can now bring you further details of some of the truly exciting events they have planned for their autumn and winter programme.
The Howard Assembly Room is an integral part of the Opera North Centre at Leeds Grand Theatre and in firm keeping with years gone by the stunning concert venue has once again planned for us all a hugely diverse and entertaining variety of music, performance, film, talks, installations and much more besides. Many old friends of the HAR will be returning to the West Yorkshire city including Omar Sosa & Seckou Keita, the Brodsky Quartet, and Hollie McNish, plus a number of other innovative artists scheduled to play at the venue for the very first time including Joachim Cooder and Terje Isungset’s Arctic Ice Music.
The preview weekend is on the 9th and 10th of October with tickets for The Tiger Lillies and The Great American Songbook costing just £10.
