NEWS: Live at Windmill Brixton – in Between The Lockdowns album feat. Shame, black midi, Sorry, Lias Saoudi & more

South London’s Windmill Brixton is one of 30 venues identified by Music Venue Trust as being at risk of permanent closure  within 6 months, unless they get financial help.

It’s the place that helped launch so many bands and artists, some of whom – including Fat White Family and Goat Girl – donated to a massive fundraiser auction launched earlier this week, which you can read about here

Despite the challenges caused by the pandemic, the Windmill still managed to put on 77 seated and socially distanced shows in between the two lockdowns.

Thirteen artists including Shame (pictured) have now donated tracks recorded live  between August and November 2020 to help raise funds, as part of the nationwide #SaveOurVenues campaign run by Music Venue Trust.

Cash raised through sales of the compilation will be split equally between the venue and the awesome local charity Brixton Soup Kitchen.

The 16-track album costs a cheap as chips five quid.

The album is available from Bandcamp only and as it’s the Friday of the month where Bandcamp waive their fees, you know what to do….ORDER IT: https://windmillbrixton.bandcamp.com/album/live-at-windmill-brixton-in-between-the-lockdowns
