Now here’s some exciting news: one of the great albums of the 1970s is being released over nine, yes NINE lovely vinyl pieces on November 6th.
Containing some of his best known songs, not least the out and out classics ‘Oliver’s Army‘ and ‘Accidents Will Happen‘, Elvis Costello – backed by The Attractions, of course – has personally curated this stunning boxset which includes “a new 2020 remaster of the album, B-sides, alternate versions and outtakes, demos, and a slew of live recordings – including 23 unreleased live tracks taken from three especially riotous concerts.”
It sounds amazing, and an absolute must for any self-respecting music fan, let alone Costello aficionados, apparently “leaving no musical stone unturned, no lyric book unrifled through and no detail left out.”
A perfect time capsule in this period of Costello’s career, it would be madness to miss out on such a release, which will be unleashed through UMe and UMG’s online stores uDiscover and Sound of Vinyl. It’s preceded by a three track digital EP, available now, featuring three tracks from the upcoming LPs Christmas In The Dominion – Live 24th December ’78, Riot At The Regent – Live In Sydney ’78, and Europe ’79 – Live At Pinkpop.
