Carmarthenshire three piece Adwaith in association with record label Libertino have donated 6 copies of debut award winning album ‘Melyn’ to generate money for Tarian Cymru.
The campaign group was founded in response to the lack of protective equipment (PPE) in Wales for health workers during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
‘We are raising money for Tarian Cymru, who are helping NHS staff get the PPE that they so desperately need. The government has screwed it up for us all, not investing in protective gear quickly or efficiently enough,’ Gwenllian Anthony from the band told us.
‘It blows my mind how unprepared we were and how NHS staff are seriously risking their lives every day for our safety. We feel pretty helpless, and we weren’t sure how we could help in anyway shape or form! So we have decided to auction off some ‘Melyn’ vinyls we found in the back of the cupboard to raise money for this important cause. It’s the least we can do. We love and cherish the NHS, and will continue to fight for its survival.’
Over the next few weeks starting today, each copy of the record will become available to bid on through Ebay. The winning bidder will receive not only a signed copy of ‘Melyn’, but also a copy of Adwaith‘s follow up released in 2021.
The original vinyl of ‘Melyn’ released late 2018, sold out in a fortnight.
The first auction is live on Ebay here.
