Stella Donnelly has revealed the video for her new single ‘Season’s Greetings’. The clip was shot on a Perth cricket pitch and was directed by Julia Jacklin and Nick McKk.
Donnelly said she could “visualise a video concept for the song” as soon as she wrote it, aiming to “exaggerate the sometimes-nuanced atmosphere of a blisteringly hot, Australian Christmas lunch”. The video sees the Fremantle singer-songwriter’s friends and dog cast as “fucked up versions of ourselves”, with Donnelly adding that “no dogs were harmed in the shooting of this film!”.
The video comes after Donnelly played Glastonbury for the first time and completed headline US and European tours. She has also supported folk-popper Maggie Rogers at the Sydney Opera House. Season’s Greetings is taken from her debut album Beware of the Dogs which released by Secretly Canadian earlier this year and led to an ARIA Music Awards nomination.
