Cowgirl are fast laying claim to be the hardest working men in show business. The York four-piece of Danny Trew Barton, Sam Coates, Jack Holdstock and Tom Robinson today unveil the double-A sided single ‘All Come True’ and ‘I Thought You Should Know’, recorded live to tape at Greenmount Studios in Leeds. It is their fifth release on Desert Mine Music UK this year alone.
Outside of the studio, Cowgirl have also been very busy playing numerous live shows up and down this country and have even found time to tour Eastern Europe back in July alongside their label mates You Should Get To Know Us.
Footage from this tour – shot by the band’s principal songwriters Danny Trew Barton and Sam Coates on traditional 8mm home movie film – has been made into a video to accompany ‘I Thought You Should Know’ and Cowgirl have very kindly given God Is In The TV the exclusive rights to premiere this video.
As if seen through the eye of a pinhole camera, Cowgirl’s love of a glittering mirror ball, bootlace ties and the historical cities of Dresden, Prague, Budapest, Krakow and Berlin is there for all to see. And with its extended coda of rattling drums and yearning guitar chords, ‘I Thought You Should Know’ wrings every last ounce of joy from the band’s tour and with it provides a perfect soundtrack to their travelogue.
‘All Come True’ and ‘I Thought You Should Know’ are released on 18th October 2019 through Desert Mine Music.
