This week’s featured video comes from Seablite, who we have been keeping our eyes on for a while. Lifted from their excellent recent album Grass Stains and Novocaine, ‘Pillbox‘ shows off their deliciously sun dappled jangly pop sound, infused with a giddy rush of melodies, shimmering fuzzy guitars, and a rippling beat. With echoes of Lush, the Pale Saints and the Popguns, it’s rather marvelous! Today we debut the DIY video which is great fun, featuring some green spaces, supermarkets, visual trickery and superimposed heads, watch it above!
“Seablite, (3 gals, one guy), spread their infectious pop-chops over 11 surefire winners, with a confident mix of shimmering and weightless female vocal melodies and blissed out guitar pop, providing a mix of UK ‘80’s DIY-indiepop coupled with an updated take on many of the greats of the shoegaze era.
After a gloriously received cassette EP, Emotional Response are proud to release the debut full length from this acclaimed and adored Bay area pop-band.”
