NEWS: Charlz reveals video for her iridescent single ‘Amaze Me’

Charlz releases the video for her addictive and evocative new single ‘Amaze Me’ today. Watch it below.

Talking about the video she says: “I made the music video for Amaze Me in my last week in LA. I wanted to make a performance-based video that was slightly abstract and visually stimulating. I was drawing on late 90’s pop and RnB influences while making the song, and I wanted to try to bring some element of that into the video. The other aesthetic direction that I wanted to tap into was futuristic. Part of the concept of Amaze Me, as a song, is coming into this lifetime from somewhere else, so I wanted to try to capture some aspect of another space that isn’t this world. Describing it to my label, I said “It’s going to be like a rebirth interpretive dance piece. I’m going to be wearing all white in a black space and look kind of futuristic. And be dancing.”  Amazingly they trusted me to go ahead with it!”

Young Melbourne singer-songwriter Charlz has been capturing pop’s zeitgeist in recent years, last year’s ‘Colors’ with its subtle production and feel good vocals, was produced by Grammy award-winning producer M-Phazes (Eminem, Madonna, Lupe Fiasco) and landed in the Spotify’s Global Viral Top 50 last year.

The smart beats and glowing synth of ‘Amaze Me’ are lit up with Charlz’s wondrous vocals that capture precious moments in time, the swelling eight-part harmonies balancing on the precipice of hopeful and revelatory: “I really sang my heart out on this track and found new reaches.” reveals Charlz. ‘Amaze Me’ is about her continuing quest for her ideal relationship. “I believe that anything is possible in life and that there is no limit to the wonder that we can create.” enthuses Charlz. “I am forever looking to see the amazing side of things and this song is really about trying to find that in a relationship.”
