Celebrated American filmmaker, screenwriter, musician, and composer John Carpenter – the veteran Hollywood director who is perhaps best known for his horror films Halloween, The Fog, Christine, and The Thing – has just announced that he will be bringing his magnificent live show back to Europe this Autumn.
The tour in support of ‘Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998,’ which came out late last year on the Sacred Bones record label, has already toured across the United States and is now set to be performed in eight cities in Scotland, England and mainland Europe. The forthcoming dates are:
Oct 10: Amsterdam, NL @ Tivolivredenburg Grote Zaal
Oct 11: Paris, FR @ Salle Pleyel
Oct 13: Barcelona, ES @ Auditorium Sitges
Oct 14: La Rochelle, FR @ La Sirene
Oct 16: London, UK @ Eventim Apollo
Oct 18: Newcastle, UK @ Tyne Theatre
Oct 19: Glasgow, UK @ Barrowlands
Oct 21: Manchester, UK @ Albert Hall
Oct 31: Los Angeles, US @ Palladium
The tour announcement comes ahead of the release of the next instalment in the Halloween movie franchise. The new film is set for release this October and is the first to have Carpenter involved since 1982’s Halloween III, and will see him in the role of Executive Producer as well as working on the soundtrack.
The live shows will see the Master of Horror joined on stage by his brilliant band, featuring his son Cody Carpenter on synthesizer, godson Daniel Davies on guitar, John Konesky also on guitar, bassist John Spiker, and drummer Scott Seiver.
