“Scanners Sissi and Jedi, is it a miracle? / Parting seas and falling skies, is it biblical? / Let’s see how dumb the world is / vultures on a carcass.”
I’ve always been a sucker for ambiguously fascinating lyrics, and Jon Bennett from Ex Comets (the slightly more mysterious ‘other’ project from members of We Three And The Death Rattle) certainly delivers that in spades, although I have been informed/corrected by Jon that PK Parties is “loosely referring to disinformation used in war and politics,” which kind of makes sense when you have the words laid out in front of you.
The beautifully shot video is equally baffling to my evidently pea-sized brain, featuring as it does, a bespectacled young lady who appears to be a member of the ‘shoot ’em up’ generation dancing around her bedroom in her own little world. It is perhaps suggesting that these games define who the ‘bad guys’ are before we’ve even had a chance to contemplate the facts.
Anyway, in the meantime, here is the thrilling, brilliant ‘PK Parties‘ for your delectation, yet another indicator that Ex Comets are becoming more and more of a force with which to be reckoned, with every single release they put out.
