Swedish artist Luna Green ‘s recent single ‘Lotus Interception’ released on Bird records, an intriguingly unique shadowy pop song, it’s the first new music from Swedish artist Luna Green in over two years and the first taste of her forthcoming album.
Shiveringly cold post-trip-hop production is laced with Green’s unusual yet bewitching vocal notes that swoop from howl to ghostly whisper, while the tracks minimal cracked production falls down the worm holes of early trip-hop of Massive Attack and Portishead and smothers each note in an introspective alt-pop sound comparable to the likes of FKA Twigs and Bjork. ‘Lotus Interception’ is at once haunting and mesmerising, stopping us dead in our tracks. Green says it’s ‘closer to what she hears inside her head. Darker, harder, more exploring and at the same time more specific to herself.’ We are lucky to have the video premiere for ‘Lotus Interception’ that explores the icy landscapes of her homeland, watch it above.
Since debuting in 2013 with an year long cycle that spawned three studio albums, Luna’s been secretly working on another dimension of her music.
