Future Islands have announced that their fifth album ‘The Far Field’ will be released on April 7.
Following on from their 2014 breakthrough album ‘Singles’ – including a much-discussed performance of ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’ on Letterman the Baltimore-band have been working on side-projects before working on new material. The album was produced by John Congleton at the legendary Sunset Sound, in Los Angeles. Congleton has also produced Blondie‘s forthcoming album ‘Pollinator’, and Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry duets with Islands singer Samuel T. Herring on the album’s penultimate track ‘Shadows.’
The band are touring Britain in late April and early May, before returning to headline the Green Man Festival in the Brecon Beacons in August.
The first track to be unveiled from the album is ‘Ran.’
